Summer Swim

School

We live to swim!

Swim-Breathe-Feel the splash of summer

Morgan’s swim school is entering our 6th summer of lessons for our community!

We would like to give a huge THANK YOU to our Windsong Ranch families, both new and returning. It is a pleasure to provide high quality swim lessons to such a great group of kids!!
Ultimately, my goal is to help save lives and to ignite their passion for swimming in the pool!

Because of demand in our community, we will be adding more instructors and more available time slots to our days. All instructors are either current or past varsity swimmers and/or water polo players at Prosper High School. In addition, they have all taught swim lessons with either Texas Ford Aquatics or Prosper Aquatics Club. I’m confident that no matter what instructor your child is with this summer, they will effectively learn to swim and have fun doing it!

Lessons are $140 for the week per child, due at registration.

Class Levels

Every child learns to swim and perfect their skills at a different pace.

Lessons are offered to children ages 3+

Level I: Children with no experience in the water. During level 1 children will learn how to hold their breathe underwater, float on their back, float on their tummy and begin learning how to roll from their tummy to their back for breathing.

Level II: Children with minimal experience in the water. This level is great for students who took swim lessons in the past and need a refresher of the basics before learning new skills. During level 2 children will continue to practice floating on their tummy and back, they will perfect how to roll from their tummy to their back so they are able to breathe on their own. Children in this level depending on age will start to learn the basics of paddling and kicking.

Level III: Children who are able to float and take breaths on their own. During level 3, children will learn how to effectively paddle and kick, putting together the whole swimming process including learning how to take breathes during strokes.

Level IV: Students will be introduced into the 4 strokes of swimming; freestyle, back stroke, breast stroke and the butterfly.

Level V: Advanced swimmers who are looking for stroke development and refinement for swim team. This can include flip turns, dives, streamlines, etc.

Friday Skills Show

The last 15 minutes of class on Friday you are welcome to bring cameras, video cameras, etc. to record the skills your child has learned. I will also take that time to go over skills to work on throughout the summer to improve their swimming technique. I want parents to know all of my teaching techniques so that they can help their children succeed and continue to build upon the skills they learned during lessons.

Important Points to Keep In Mind

What to Bring

Please send your child with a towel & a pair of goggles if they will wear them. I allow goggles but NO masks because it covers their nose & prevents them from learning how to blow bubbles to keep water out of their nose.

Things to Do Before You Come

Please start talking about how much fun they are going to have learning how to swim. Your children will follow your cues. If you are excited, they probably will be as well. Encourage them throughout the week that they will do great, to listen nicely to their instructors. Please don't get discouraged if they don't want to come the second day - it is completely normal & they will usually talk about how much fun they had the entire way home by the 2nd or 3rd day. Please have your little swimmer use the bathroom just before you leave home to come for lessons. I find children may say they have to go potty to avoid trying a new skill or even getting in the water.

In Case of Rain

We WILL swim if it sprinkles without thunder or lightening. However, if thunder or lightening are present we will NOT swim. If it rains during our scheduled lesson, I will text & email everyone that we are canceling lessons. I will also post the cancellation on my Facebook page. I will do makeups at the same time on Saturday the week of your lessons. Every effort will be made to provide a make up lesson. If that is not an option, I will refund the cost of that lesson.
